So, we’ve provided our favourite masks for different hair dilemmas, making it easier than ever to choose and begin creating your mask:

    Find out more:

    1. DIY Hair Mask For Dry Hair

Tracking down why your hair is feeling and looking dry can be a little tricky because there is a whole host of contributing factors. Using too much shampoo, washing too frequently, detangling without care and skipping protective hair treatments are just some of the many reasons why your hair becomes dry. Over time dryness will cause your locks to become brittle and prone to breakage, leaving a trip to the hairdresser as your only solution.

However, you’ll be pleased to know that you can prevent your hair from reaching this stage by applying a gorgeously hydrating, nourishing mask once a week or so. All you will need is the following ingredients:

    • 1 ripe banana
    • A few drops of argan oil
    • 2 tablespoons of coconut milk

To make your mask, simply mix together all of your ingredients in a small bowl. Separate the hair into sections and apply the mask from root to ends. Leave in for around 40 minutes before thoroughly rinsing and gently washing out with shampoo. You’re now ready to seal the deal with your favourite hair products, such as our oil for hair extensions!

    2. DIY Hair Mask For Damaged Hair

For those with damaged hair, we feel your pain, so we have a couple of ideas for you! You may be surprised to find that the base for our repairing hair mask is an avocado. Not only are avocados a tasty addition to your meals, but they contain natural oils, which means they are also fab for moisturising and nourishing your hair. Now when it comes to our repairing masks, we are going to pre-warn you that you will look like you have guacamole on your head, but trust us, it’ll be worth it!

    Combine these ingredients:

    • One avocado
    • 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil, depending on how much hair you have and how thick it is

You can do this using a fork, or in a blender for a smooth consistency. Gently massage the mask into your hair and scalp and leave it to sit for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash out.

    3. Homemade Hair Mask For Frizzy Hair

If you suffer from frizzy hair that will not be tamed, no matter how hard you try, we have got you covered. With this fabulous hair mask, you can take control of your locks for good.

This hair mask is proven to naturally nourish and clean your hair from root to tip. The natural bleaching agent in the lemon may also help to brighten your locks – perfect for the summer months.

All this hair mask requires is two tablespoons of honey, two tablespoons of lemon and a cup of water. Mix the ingredients and apply them to your freshly washed and conditioned hair, leave it for 10 minutes to soak in, and rinse out with lukewarm water. This should be used once every two weeks to nourish and replenish your hair.

    4. DIY Hair Mask For Growth

If all you’re dreaming of is a full head of rapunzel-style locks, waiting for your hair to grow can feel never-ending. Don’t worry; we have your back! These amazing mask recipes are specifically designed to promote hair growth and strengthen your locks.

The first recipe combines two ingredients in equal parts:

    • Cinnamon powder
    • Melted coconut oil

Thoroughly blend the two ingredients, then apply the mask only to your roots. Massage the mask into the scalp and allow it to work its magic for no less than half an hour before rinsing out. We recommend scheduling this mask into your routine once a week.

Another recipe for waking up your hair follicles is a simple mixture of:

Again, this mask is just for the scalp but to maximise results, we suggest covering your head with a hot towel while it’s in your hair, as this will help your scalp to absorb all of the hydrating goodness. Leave this mask on for around 20 minutes, and then wash your hair as usual.

    5. Overnight Hair Mask DIY

If you’re a fan of simplicity and like to avoid putting too many harsh chemicals in your hair, you’ll absolutely love this DIY overnight hair mask recipe – the only ingredient you’ll need for this mask is coconut oil! This miracle oil moisturises your hair and scalp, soothing irritation and repairing hair damage.

All you need to do to make this mask is place a few tablespoons of coconut oil in a ceramic bowl before microwaving. You should stir the oil every 15 seconds as you microwave it and stop once it’s completely melted. Check that it’s cool enough to handle before gently massaging it into your hair and scalp. Leave the oil in your hair overnight and wash it out in the morning. Indian women have been applying coconut oil to their hair for thousands of years, and it’s not hard to see why! The results of this method are simply stunning – who’d have thought the secret to glossy, healthy hair was the oil of the humble coconut?

    6. DIY Overnight Hair Mask For Curly Hair

If you have curly or natural hair, you may find that lots of DIY hair mask recipes don’t give you the hydration boost you need for bouncy and protected locks. We’ve got you covered! Follow our coconut oil overnight hair mask DIY method for the moisturising treatment you seek.

    7. DIY Hair Mask For Bleached Blonde Hair

If you’ve recently bleached your hair and it’s feeling a little… crispy, please don’t panic! This mask will moisturise and repair your hair, all while enhancing your lovely blonde locks! All you need to make this cheap-as-chips mask is apple cider vinegar and water. Apple cider vinegar balances the pH of your hair and scalp, making your locks smoother, stronger and less frizzy. It also has lightening properties and will enhance your natural highlights, leaving your hair with a gorgeous shine.

To make this mask, mix equal amounts of these ingredients:

    • Apple cider vinegar
    • Water

Apply evenly to damp hair with a spray bottle. Leave the mask in your hair for half an hour before rinsing it out and enjoying your newly replenished locks!

    8. DIY Hair Mask For Dandruff

Dandruff can be SO annoying, especially when trying to perfect an updo or recreate a super sleek straight look, but let’s face it, we all experience it. From having naturally dry skin to not shampooing or brushing your hair enough, there are so many reasons why you can start to notice patches of dandruff. So, of course, it would only be fair that we included a super easy homemade mask that will help to reduce this issue. All you will need is:

    • Half a cup of oatmeal
    • 3 tablespoons of warm coconut milk
    • 1 tablespoon of warm almond oil

Mix your three ingredients together and then begin to work it into the scalp, using circular massage motions. Leave the mask to sit on the scalp for around one hour, and then wash your hair as usual. This is a super beneficial mask as the oatmeal creates a gentle exfoliator while the coconut milk and oil moisturise and promote hair growth.

    9. DIY Hair Mask For Oily Hair

Whether you struggle with it daily or have just woken up with greasy, oily hair one morning, this hair mask is guaranteed to leave your hair feeling squeaky clean. This four-ingredient hair masks can be easily made with things everyone will have somewhere in their kitchen!

Just combine 63g of plain yoghurt with a tablespoon of baking soda, and incorporate one to two tablespoons of lemon juice with one egg white. Mix this up well to create a smooth paste that you can apply to hair and cover with a shower cap; leave this to soak for 30 minutes, then rinse it off. We recommend using this hair mask at least once a week to experience optimum results!
